Established in February 1996, the Nagoya University Program for Academic Exchange (NUPACE) serves as this University’s flagship student exchange program. It has played host to over 3,000 international students from 180 partner institutions in 40 countries and regions. The program is designed for both undergraduate and graduate students, and offers the opportunity to study or conduct research at Nagoya University for a duration ranging from four to twelve months.
Students benefit from an extensive English-language program that spans all major disciplines, including the STEM fields. Credit-seeking students are expected to register for 15 Nagoya University credits per semester, and may combine courses in their major with modules in Japan area studies and Japanese language education, in line with their academic interests and exchange objectives. Research students are given the opportunity to collect data and advance their theses under the supervision of an academic advisor. Furthermore, students with sufficient Japanese proficiency may choose to enroll in regular undergraduate- and graduate-level courses conducted in Japanese.
