In the FY2025 interim evaluation of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)’s “Startup Ecosystem Co-creation Program,” Tongali (Tokai Network for Global Leading Innovators) received the highest level of praise. The report highlighted the success of Tongali in creating a sustainable platform that could serve as a role model and encouraged Tongali to disseminate its best practices with others.
Established in 2016, Tongali is an edicational institution dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in central Japan’s academic communities. Participating organizations include: Nagoya University, Toyohashi University of Technology, Gifu University, Mie University, Meijo University, Fujita Health University, Nagoya City University, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Toyota Technological Institute, Gifu Pharmaceitucal University, Nagoya Institue of Technology, University of Shizuoka, Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology, National Institutes of Natural Sciences (NINS), and STATION Ai Corporation.
Going forward, Tongali will continue to deepen collaboration among its participating institutions and work to expand an ecosystem that continuously supports the creation and growth of deep-tech startups from universities.
