Statement regarding December 23rd accident at Higashiyama Campus

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, a bottle containing chemicals ruptured during cleaning operations on the fourth floor of the ITbM Building at our Higashiyama Campus, resulting in injuries to three students. All affected students are currently receiving appropriate medical treatment.

We sincerely apologize to all those concerned for any inconvenience and worry this incident has caused. Nagoya University is committed to providing comprehensive care for the students’ physical and mental well-being. Based on the results of our investigation into the cause of this incident, we will take thorough measures to prevent recurrence and strengthen our safety management protocols.
