Entrepreneurship education and startup support systems
The university interprets entrepreneurship, translated as entrepreneurial spirit, as a mindset that challenges the future through ideas and technology.
We provide educational programs covering idea generation as the foundation of business, methods for realizing ideas, business model construction, and refining toward better business models, developing talented individuals with entrepreneurship who stand out.
For startup support, we guide ventures toward establishment by providing funding to research seeds and technology seeds with high potential for commercialization. We provide incubation facilities as shared facilities for these venture companies and have established a certification system that grants official recognition as Nagoya University-originated ventures. We also hold Ventures Talk events where business content is presented to financial professionals for the purpose of securing funding.
The university provides seamless support from entrepreneurship education to startup establishment for students and faculty alike.

Startup ecosystem global hub city
In fiscal year 2020, the university received recognition from the Cabinet Office for the Aichi-Nagoya and Hamamatsu regions as a “Startup Ecosystem Global Hub City.” The Startup Ecosystem Global Hub City leverages outstanding human resources, research and development capabilities, corporate activities, and funding to form Japanese-style startup ecosystem hubs that compete globally.
The university serves as a key member of the “Central Japan Startup Ecosystem Consortium,” working together with Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, Hamamatsu City, and the Chubu Economic Federation to create an environment where startups that provide value from the Tokai region to the world are born, grow, and gather. Nagoya University particularly contributes to the development of human resources and technology.
