Professor Emeritus Ikue Mori receives 2024 Tsuda Umeko Prize

Nagoya University Professor Emeritus Ikue Mori has received the 2024 Tsuda Umeko Prize for her outstanding contributions to promoting the activities of women scientists in the natural sciences. Professor Mori was the first woman to found and lead a Nagoya University research institute, the Neuroscience Institute.

The prize is named after Tsuda Umeko, one of the pioneers of Japanese women’s education and founder of Tsuda University, the first liberal arts education college in Japan open to all women regardless of their parentage.
