Nagoya University presents renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass with Honorary Doctorate

Dr. Zahi Hawass, Egyptologist, archaeologist and former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs of Egypt, was presented with an honorary doctorate from Nagoya University by President Naoshi Sugiyama in a ceremony on Friday 29th September. Dr. Hawass, who has a long-standing relationship with Japan and has also received the Gold and Silver Star of the Order of the Rising Sun, gave a lecture on his research at the Sakata and Hirata Hall following the ceremony. He was joined by Nagoya University researchers Kunihiro Morishita and Yukinori Kawae, whose research into scanning technologies for investigating the interior of the pyramids has been making waves in the field this year.
