RU 11 Issues Emergency Statement on 'Strategic reinforcement of infrastructure in research universities utilizing our academic research resources'

The presidents of the "Research University 11," made up of 11 universities that assume a leading role in cutting-edge research and human resource development in Japan (Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, University of Tsukuba, The University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Kyushu University), have issued a statement regarding a "review of the allocation of subsidies for operation which are fundamental financial resources for national universities" and "support of competition-based programs targeting national, public, and private universities to enrich graduate schools" as follows:
