Nagoya University Creates Fund-Raising Project to Support Research on Blue LEDs and Materials for Sustainability

Nagoya University has created a fund-raising project in Nagoya University Foundation, aiming to further strengthen a system to promote research on gallium nitride (GaN), considered as one of promising materials for future. GaN, which is also a material for blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs), will contribute to future society as a material for various environmental innovations, such as next-generation semiconductors for power devices, and deep ultraviolet LEDs to purify water.

To support research and education of GaN, the University will use donations for sectors that can be hardly covered by public funds, such as maintenance of facilities to stably advance research, guarantee of research administrators and assistants, maintenance of intellectual property rights, and scholarship for students. Your warm support would be greatly appreciated.
