Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies

 

Nagoya University has been notified about this program by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

 

Aim of this program:

With students experiencing significant economic impact on their lifestyles due to substantial reductions in household income and income from part-time work because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the program will provide those who face difficulties in continuing their studies at their university or other educational institution a cash handout so that they do not abandon their studies.

 

Amount of handout:

The handaout amount applicable to international students is 100,000 yen.

Students with financial difficulties are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every single application requirement.Please describe your financial hardship in detail on "3. Items to Submit"of Form 1.

Application deadline:

5:00 pm, June 8, 2020 (The mail must reach us by that time.)  

Please make sure that your application forms and documents are complete before mailing them. If they are incomplete or reach us after the deadline, your application may not be reviewed.

 

Selection:

The university will confirm your eligibility and select recipients that it will in turn recommend to JASSO. The university may ask applicants about the submitted forms and documents during the selection process.

 

Selection result and disbursement:

If you are selected, you will not receive any special notification about the decision concerning the disbursement. The transfer of funds to your account will serve as notification of finalized disbursement. If you are not selected, the university will notify you of the result.

This program has a budget allocated by the Japanese government. Thus, please be aware that you may not be selected even you meet all the criteria.
