Prof. Masahito Hayashi Selected as IEEE Fellow

Professor Masahito Hayashi of the Graduate School of Mathematics, Nagoya University, has been selected as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The IEEE, based in the United States, is the world's largest professional organization of electricity and electronics.

 

IEEE members are graded into Student Member, Member, Senior Member, and Fellow. The IEEE Fellow, the highest grade, is rewarded to IEEE members with extraordinary accomplishments, and the promotion to this grade is determined by rigorous screening by the IEEE Fellow Committee.

 

Prof. Hayashi was promoted to the IEEE Fellow on January 1, 2017, for his contributions to Shannon theory, information-theoretic security, and quantum information theory.
